Licence requirements
Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a full driver’s licence.

Please note: all drivers with a non-English language licence must carry either an accurate English translation of this licence or an International Driving Permit [IDP] while driving. This is to help police determine that an overseas licence is valid, verify the driver holds the correct class for the vehicle, and check for any endorsements that may be attached to the licence.

Should you require further information regarding driving in New Zealand, please refer to the Land Transport NZ website www.ltsa.govt.nz

Daily rates
Rates are on a per-calendar day basis. The daily rate includes Rotorua Airport transfers on arrival and departure, unlimited kilometres, standard insurance, 24 hour breakdown assistance, extra driver fees, diesel tax and GST (Goods & Services Tax 12.5%).

Rental duration
When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of the campervan pick-up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the vehicle's return is counted as the final day of the rental. When a rental moves from one rating season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates. Vehicles are available from 9.00 am on the day you commence your hire and must be returned by 4.30 pm on termination unless prior arrangements are made.

Standard Excess Insurance Cover
All Rotorua Campervans vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of NZ$ 2,500 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. The hirer will also be fully liable for the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (max 7 days) and for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tyres. A security bond of NZ$ 2,500 will be taken on vehicle collection. The security bond can be paid by cash, traveller's cheques or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately, any currency fluctuations are not the responsibility of Rotorua Campervans. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition with no damage incurred to the Rotorua Campervans vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged.

Rotorua Campervans offer the following option to reduce the Standard Excess:
Excess Reduction at NZ$ 25 per day will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of NZ$ 1,000 and it will cover the cost of replacing or repairing windscreens and tyres.

The hirer, however, will be fully liable for the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (max 7 days). The bond of NZ$ 1,000 can be paid by cash, traveller's cheques or credit card. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition with no damage incurred to the Rotorua Campervas vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged. The total insurance charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days or NZ$ 1,250.
