Rates/Minimum Hire Periods:
* Rates are per day in NZ$ and include unlimited kilometres & GST (New Zealand Government Tax)
* The minimum hire period is 7 days

Drivers/Licences
All drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a full and current New Zealand driver's licence, or an International Driving Licence, or a New Zealand recognised licence from the country of origin with certified English translation (where applicable).

Depots/Pickup Points
Depots: Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin
One-way hires between our depots are free of charge.

Transfers/Vehicle Pickups
We deliver the campervans to the airport, hotel/motel or campground within city limits. This service is free of charge.

Insurance
STANDARD INSURANCE:
A compulsory insurance charge of NZ$16.00 per day covers your hire vehicle, third party property and public liability to NZ$2,000,000. However it is still advised to take out travel insurance which covers the excess and personal property. The hirer is liable for the first NZ$2500 or NZ$5000 for under 21 of any damage caused in any one accident. The bond paid at the commencement of the hire is to cover this. Underfloor damage and damge to the windscreen is not covered by the above insurance; the windscreen can be insured for an additional NZ$7.00 per day.

Bond Waiver Insurance
Partial excess waiver insurance: NZ$28.00 per day (includes compulsory daily insurance) with excess of NZ$500; underfloor damage and windscreen not included.

Complete cover: NZ$38.00 per day (includes compulsory daily insurance) with excess $0. The complete cover eliminates the excess of NZ$2500 or NZ$5000 for under 21 completely. Includes underfloor damage and windscreen. Note: this insurance option is not available for hires less than 10 days.

Petrol/Equipment Bond
In all cases, a petrol/equipment bond of NZ$300.00 is still payable and is fully refunded on return of the campervan provided the campervan is returned with a full tank, the equipment is undamaged and the campervan is returned in an acceptable state of cleanliness and all traffic offenses are paid for.

Bond
On pick up of the vehicle a Bond/Excess is payable. The amount is determined by the insurance option selected. Unless complete cover or partial excess waiver insurance was taken out a bond/excess of NZ$2500 or NZ$5000 for under 21 is payable to Otago Campervans upon collecting the vehicle. With partial Excess Waiver Insurance the bond/excess is NZ$500. This bond/excess is per accident and fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned without damage or liabilities to any third party, is given back in an acceptable state of cleanliness, the petrol tank is full, the equipment undamaged and all traffic offenses are paid for. With complete Cover there is the NZ$300 petrol/equipment bond only.

It is recommended that hirers take out their own travel insurance to cover personal injury, medical costs and personal property.

General Conditions
The Company reserve the right to make deductions over and above the bond for any of, or multiples of the following:

Missing or damaged equipment. The vehicle is not returned in a clean condition.

The Company regrets it is unable to make any refunds for vehicles returned before the due date, or for unused rental days.

Hire vehicles operated outside the terms of the rental agreement have no insurance cover and the hirer is liable for the entire cost of any damage.

Deposit
A deposit of 25% of the total hire cost is payable to secure a booking. This is calculated on 25% of the daily hire tarrif times the number of days of the hire. The full balance is required 30 days before the commencement of the hire as is the total compulsory daily insurance.

The bond, optional insurance waivers and any additional equipment must be paid at the Depot at the commencement of the hire
