Insurance and Excess for camper vans
Insurance is included in your cost of rental (included in daily rate). Insurance comes with a specified amount that the hirer is liable to pay in the event of an accident (the 'excess'). The excess for over 25 year olds is NZ$1200 (NZ$1700 for 21 to 25, NZ$2200 for under 21).
This can be reduced by taking an Excess Reduction insurance option.
Option 1: reduces excess to NZ$500 by payment of NZ$10 per day for over 25 year olds (NZ$15 for 21 to 25, NZ$20 for under 21).
*Option 2: reduces excess to NZ$150 by payment of NZ$20 per day for over 25 year olds (NZ$25 for 21 to 25, not available if under 21).
*Includes multiple tyre and windscreen cover.

The above excess amounts are covered by taking a credit card imprint at commencement of the hire. Money is only debited in the unfortunate event of an accident or damage occuring.

Deposit and payments
When you receive your confirmation a deposit of 15% is required to secure the booking. This payment is then deducted from your rental balance.

ONE WAY FEES valid for travel between 15th December and 28th February.
Auckland: $150 (Waived for hires over 21 Days)
Christchurch: $150 (Waived for hires over 21 Days)
Wellington: $250
Queenstown: NZ$300

Rate Calculation
Escape camper vans offers seasonal pricing. If your intended travel dates cross two different rate periods your rental will be charged based on the number of days of campervan hire incurred in each period. For example a 21 day hire starting on the 27 October would be five days at NZD 63 plus 16 days at NZD 95.

Taking Camper vans on the ferry
Camper van swaps in Wellington or Picton are not encouraged as it is more economical and hassle free to take the Camper accross on the ferry
